Popup killer tab

In this tab you can setup how popup windows are blocked. Here only global popup blocking options can be setup. To fine-tune popup blocking you should use popup filters that are edited in Popup filters tab.

To open Popup killer tab open Ad Annihilator Options window and switch to Popup killer tab by clicking on its name.

Following options are available:

• "Enable popup killer (block popups as specified by filters)" - unchecking this option turns off popup blocking. If it is unchecked, no popup is blocked at all, popup filters and other options on this tab have no effect, and Ad Annihilator does not interfere with how popups are downloaded and shown. If it is checked, all other popup blocking options and popup filters work as usual;

• "Show "Popup block/unblock dialog" when I block/unblock a popup" - when checked, Popup block and Popup unblock windows are shown only if you press Shift key when blocking or unblocking a popup; otherwise, they are shown each time you block or unblock a popup;

• "Show a visual hint when a popup is blocked" - when checked, each time a popup is blocked, Ad Annihilator displays a small temporary window near Ad Annihilator toolbar with a hint telling "Popup disabled" like this:
  
  to provide you with visual hint when a popup is blocked;

• "Play sound when a popup is blocked" - allows you to setup a sound that is played each time a popup is blocked. This may serve you as an audible indicator that notifies you of existence of blocked popups on the current page. Also, a visual indicator is always shown on Ad Annihilator toolbar as a temporary window (see How to unblock popups? for an example). You may later re-open blocked windows using methods set out in How to unblock popups?

  • "..." - click this button to browse for a sound file on the disk. Selected file will be played each time a popup is blocked;

  • "Play" - click this button to test and hear the selected sound right now;

  • "Clear" - clears selected sound and disables audible notification feature;

  • "Use default" - switches to default sound built-in in Ad Annihilator.

• "Open popup filters" button opens Popup filters tab where you could setup popup filters. Popup filters tab opening requires that Ad Annihilator Options window be closed. You will be prompted to save your changes before closing. See Understanding popup filters to learn more about popup filters.
