Progress tab
This tab is shown in Progress and
Statistics window and displays the list of documents and resources that are
being downloaded. You may use it to track document and resource download
process. Documents and resources are added to this list
automatically when their downloading starts and removed when downloading ends.
You cannot control which documents and resources are shown here.
Progress tab can be turned into automatic display mode: it is shown when
downloading starts and hidden when it ends. To enable this mode check "Hide
progress window automatically" checkbox in Advanced
tab of Ad Annihilator Options
window. See Advanced
tab for more information.
List structure
There are following columns displayed in the list:
-
"Address" -
Internet address of the document or resource (URL);
-
"Size" - number of bytes downloaded so far. This number
increases while resource is downloaded;
-
"Total" - total size of the resource or document in bytes.
This value is shown only if it was reported by the web server;
-
"Status" - current download status. This field details what
is going on with the download of the resource;
-
"Content type" - document or resource content type if it was
reported by the web server.
Legend
Items shown in the list are marked by the following icons:
-
- the document or resource was queued for
downloading. The browser restricts the number of simultaneous connections to a
single site so if this restriction is exceeded, resources do not start
downloading until a connection becomes available for them. With Ad Annihilator
you can slacken this restriction increasing its value in Advanced tab of
Ad Annihilator Options window;
-
- the document or resource has started downloading.
Progress tab toolbar
There are following buttons on Progress tab toolbar:
-
"Abort resource" - aborts resource or document
downloading. This is useful when you see that a resource that you do not need
is being downloaded and want to cancel its downloading. This especially
applies to large-sized resources. Note that this command aborts only this
downloading. Next time the browser tries to retrieve this resource, it will start
downloading again. To prevent a resource (banner) from future downloading use
"Block this banner" button;
-
"Block this banner" - aborts resource (banner)
downloading immediately and blocks it for future browsing as well. If you
press Shift key while clicking this button, Resource block
dialog opens to allow you to customize banner blocking. See
How to block banners? for more information
on banner blocking;
-
"Unblock this banner" - does the same as similar option
in Progress tab
context menu.
Progress tab
context menu
Progress tab context menu is shown when you right-click a document or a
resource
in the Progress tab:

Use Progress tab context menu to perform document- or
resource-specific
operations. Following options are available:
-
"Abort" - does the same as similar button on
Progress tab toolbar;
-
"Block this banner" - does the same as similar button
on Progress tab toolbar;
-
"Unblock this banner" - allows you to unblock the
resource (banner) from future browsing. This command is not useful for
unblocking of only this banner as if it appears in this list, it is already
not blocked. However, it is useful for unblocking of similar resources. This
is achieved by pressing Shift key while clicking this option which opens
Resource unblock dialog. See
How to unblock banners? for more
information on banner blocking;
-
"Copy shortcut" - copies a link to the selected
resource or document to clipboard. You may later paste this link in Windows
Explorer or onto the desktop to get a direct shortcut to this document for
quick access;
-
"Properties" - opens either
Document properties window for the
currently selected document or Resource properties window
for the currently selected resource. To view resource properties for a
document open Document properties
window with this button and then click "Show advanced properties" button
there.
