Progress graph

To the right of Progress and Statistics window progress graph is shown:

This graph is a descriptive view of download process that shows you how download speed changes with time. Using this graph you may assess your download speed, Internet connection bandwidth and detect problems and shutdowns in your connection. The vertical axis is marked with figures corresponding to download speed in either bits per second (bps) or characters per second (cps). The display unit may be switched with context menu. The horizontal axis corresponds to time: the rightmost part of the graph is the most recent moment, the leftmost part is the least recent moment. As time goes on, the graph shifts to the left. Note that when downloading stops, the graph shifting stops, too.

The context menu of Progress graph is available if you right-click the graph. It allows you to change the unit used for download speed on the graph. There are following choices available:

  • bps - bits per second;

  • cps - characters per second. This unit is 8 times larger than bps, so values expressed in it is 8 times smaller as compared to corresponding values in bps.

Additionally, following current page statistics figures are shown on the graph:

  • "Downloaded" - number of bytes downloaded so far from the Internet while opening the current page. This number reflects only your Internet traffic and does not include number of bytes retrieved from cache;

  • "Items left" - shows the number of resources left to download and total number of resources on the current page;

  • "Errors" - number of resources on the current page that were not retrieved due to errors;

  • "Rejected" - number of resources on the current page that were not retrieved as they were blocked by banner filters. This number usually reflects the number of banners Ad Annihilator detected and blocked on the current page. See How to block banners? for more information;

  • "Avg speed" - average download speed. This speed is also shown with yellow horizontal line on the graph.
