Document properties window
Document properties window shows detailed information about a document. It
can be opened via:
To open Document properties window from any of these tabs,
right-click a
document and select Properties in the context menu. The
window shows following information:
-
"Title" - the title of the document as stored in the
cache. Initially, Ad
Annihilator stores the title provided by the web site here. You may wish to
change this default title to more descriptive text;
-
"Address" -
Internet address of the document (URL);
-
"Version" - document version. If this document is the
current version, nothing is
shown in this field. If the document is a
fixed version, the version
number is shown here. Version number is a number of the version of the same
document stored in cache.
Document versions are numbered chronologically - the first version
fixed has the number 1, the
second - number 2, and so on. The greater the version number, the later it was
retrieved and fixed.
To learn more about document versions see
Understanding document versions;
-
"Downloaded at" - date and time at which the document was
downloaded from the Internet;
-
"Last visited at" - date and time at which the document was
opened in the browser at the last time;
-
"Visit count" - number of times the document was
opened in the browser;
-
"Size" - size of the document altogether with any contained
resources. To view the size of the document file itself click "Show advanced
properties" button in this window;
-
"Resource count" - number of resources contained in the
document. Document resources comprise pictures (banners), scripts, stylesheets, objects (Flash animations) and other resources that should be
downloaded altogether with this document. To view the list of document resources click
"Open resource
list" button in this window;
-
"Method" - HTTP method used to retrieve this document. It
can be either GET or POST. Most documents received as a result of form
submission are retrieved with POST method;
-
"Local file name" - name of the file on the local disk used
to store the link to the document in cache.
This file is always stored in current
project folder. Note that this file does not store the document itself.
You may see where actual document file is located in
Resource
properties window that can be opened with "Show advanced properties"
button in this window;
-
"Make new versions automatically" - when checked, Ad
Annihilator makes new versions of the current document each time you download
it from the Internet. When it is unchecked, each time you download the current
document from the Internet, it overwrites the latest document version. It is
recommended to check this option for documents for which you want Ad
Annihilator to generate multiple document versions automatically.

Understanding document versions.
Following buttons are available in Document properties
window:
-
"Open resource list"
button - opens the list of document resources in Resource list
tab. When this command is issued, Document properties window is closed
automatically and no changes are saved. To save them and open the resource
list, click OK button first, then re-open the Document properties window and
click "Open resource list" button;
-
"Delete document" - deletes the document from the
cache permanently and closes
the window. Be careful with this command as it deletes the document
permanently, and you'll have to download it from the Internet again to access
it again;
-
"Get new version" - does the same as
the similar option in
Documents tab context menu. When this command is issued, Document
properties window is closed automatically and no changes are saved;
-
"Show advanced properties" - opens
Resource
properties window where advanced document information can be accessed.
That window considers the document as a resource and shows its resource
properties. Generally, this information includes Internet headers that were
sent with this document from the web server.
To save the changes you made in this window click OK
button, to discard them - click Cancel button.
