Ad Annihilator Configuration Wizard

Ad Annihilator Configuration Wizard is launched first time you launch Ad Annihilator (Internet Explorer since Ad Annihilator is integrated into it). It helps you to configure Ad Annihilator quickly and easily.

The wizard consists of several steps. To move between steps, use Back, Next and Finish buttons. Clicking Cancel will configure settings in remaining steps of Ad Annihilator Configuration Wizard by default and exit the wizard.

Step 1 - Welcome

On this screen you are able to choose if you would like to configure Ad Annihilator manually or automatically using default settings. Automatic configuration is recommended and suits to most of users. However, if you wish to fine-tune Ad Annihilator settings, you should employ manual configuration process. With Ad Annihilator Configuration Wizard it is very easy.

Choices available:

• "I want to configure Ad Annihilator manually" - choose this if you want to perform manual configuration. If you choose this option, Ad Annihilator Configuration Wizard proceeds to other steps;

• "Use default settings (skip this wizard)" - choose this if you want to configure Ad Annihilator automatically with default settings. These settings are detailed below in the further steps description.

Step 2 - Select Ad Annihilator mode

Ad Annihilator has a lot of features that are wanted by not all users. That’s why Ad Annihilator offers you two modes: Simple and Advanced. You may easily change the mode later using Program mode tab in Ad Annihilator Options window.

See Program mode tab to learn about Ad Annihilator modes. If you choose simple mode, other wizard steps will be skipped.

Step 3 - Create project

At least a single project must be created in order to launch and use Ad Annihilator. See Understanding projects for more information on Ad Annihilator projects.

You have following choices:

• Create a new project. In this case you should select a location where the project files will be created. The default location offered by the wizard suits most of the users so you may leave it as is. if you wish to change the default location, click Browse button and select another one;

• Select an existing project. This option is for users who have re-installed or upgraded Ad Annihilator and want to use a project they used earlier. You may either select a project from the list or click Browse button, then locate and select a project file.

Step 4 - Setup predefined filters

On this screen you are able to choose if you would like to import predefined Ad Annihilator filters. See Ad Annihilator Project Wizard for information on predefined filters.

Step 5 - Advanced settings

On this screen you are able to setup advanced Ad Annihilator settings. To learn about each setting click Help link near it.

There are following advanced settings offered on this wizard screen:

• Block banners;

• Block popups;

• Block cookies;

• Display a notification about every script error;

• Refresh every banner on the page after filter change;

• Play sound when a banner is shot;

• Play sound when a popup is blocked;

• Do not cache secure documents;

• Store partially retrieved documents and resources.
